Alexander Verlinsky obtained his D. Sc. degree in Classics for the theses “Classical doctrines of the origin of language”, which previously appeared as a book (St. Petersburg: St. Petersburg University Press, 2006. – 412 pp. In Russian with an English summary). The "Classics Club" (Gymnasium Classicum Petropolitanum) has opened a new season. Pupils tell about their summer trips to Rome and Chersonesos (Sevastopol, Ukraine). The winners of the Certamen Latinum and of the Translation Competition, as well as the young lectures, receive book awards.
